Volume can provide insight into the strength or weakness of a price trend. When a market's price is in an uptrend, buying pressure should be greater than selling pressure. If the volume bar indicates greater volume in an uptrend, generally that uptrend is considered stable. If the uptrend begins to fall and the volume is heavier than is evident on previous rallies, this may be an early warning the uptrend is losing momentum.
