The Acceleration Bands are plotted around a simple Moving Average as the midpoint. The upper and lower bands are of equal distance from this midpoint. The author recommends that Closes outside the indicator's bands should be used for identifying breakouts on weekly and monthly timeframes. On shorter time frames, the upper and lower bands should be used as support and resistance levels.
